I think one of my dad's favorite aspects of being a grandpa, is being able to impart his special words of wisdom to the grandkids. He always has a captive audience when he begins one of his stories, the boys stop what they are doing and listen with wide eyes. He prides himself on teaching the kids things that they wouldn't learn anywhere else. Like, based on his experience, eating pepper will cause hair to grow on your toes and armpits. All you have to do is sprinkle it on your main dish (the more the better) and watch the hair sprout up.
For some reason, my boys are now chomping on the bit to get hairy pits! Thanks dad. Yesterday, I made mac and cheese, and I noticed that my youngest, Garrett was dousing it with pepper....and he ate it! Afterwards he took off his shirt to inspect the pit perimeter. Tonight we had chicken and...you guessed it! More pepper:
Excited to test out grandpa's prediction:
I thought we could have some fun with this. Is there anything you were told as a child that you really believed at the time, only to realize later was a tall tale? We would love to hear from you! We will take your calls on Friday morning. You can also listen live at www.955TheFish.com!
